Fez is the cultural capital of Morocco. It made a name for itself thanks to its spirituality and the fact that it is home to what is thought to be the oldest university in the world, founded in the 9th century.
The city is known for its madrasas (schools where the Coran is taught, as well as historically important subjects such as mathematics, grammar, history, astronomy, medicine, etc.).
Walking through its streets gives us a feel for the rich history of the place, from the first street of the medina to the modern city centre.
